New outdoor exhibition “Somewhere in Kalamaja”
Kalamaja museum’s new outdoor exhibition “Somewhere in Kalamaja” was opened during the Kalamaja Days settlement festival. The exhibition takes visitors on a journey to places and buildings that have disappeared, been destoryed or changed completely throughout the times.
Taking a look into the past we create a bridge between the current and former Kalamaja. The exhibition boards are waiting for visitors in nine different locations all over the district. The exhibition came to light from the initial idea to introduce notable places in Kalamaja and memories connected to them, that community members have shared with the museum.
The exhibition boards’ locations:
Kopli pedestrian bridge – Kopli 70a
Seywang arc – Kopli 68
Kalamaja cemetery park – Kungla 63
Kalarand – Kalaranna 8
Puhks’ grain elevator – Põhja pst 27
Balti jaam-Nunne street parking lot
Vana-Kalamaja and Kotzebue street intersection – Kotzebue 9
Skala cinema – Vabriku 6
State printing house – Niine 6a.
The journey to each exhibition board adds up to 4,7 kilometres.
